Terms of Service

Last updated: April 26, 2026

Stoop is a side project run by one person. These terms are written in plain English so you actually know what you're agreeing to. If something isn't clear, email us — we'd rather answer a question than hide behind legalese.

Who we are

Stoop is operated by Andrew Dresser as a sole proprietor based in New York. There is no company behind it yet — just a person building a useful service for parents. References to "Stoop," "we," "us," or "our" mean Andrew Dresser doing business as Stoop.

What Stoop does

Stoop texts you personalized kids activity recommendations. You sign up by texting us or filling out the form on our website. You tell us about your kids (ages, interests, neighborhood) and we send you ideas — parks, classes, events, weekend plans. You can ask follow-up questions. You can stop anytime.

Who can use Stoop

You need to be at least 18 years old and live in the United States. Stoop is for parents and caregivers — not for kids. Don't sign up on behalf of someone else without their permission.

Text messages and your consent

By giving us your phone number and confirming "GO" (or checking the SMS consent box on the web form), you agree to receive automated text messages from Stoop, including activity recommendations, follow-up questions, and occasional service updates. Message frequency varies based on the cadence you pick (daily, three times a week, or weekly). Message and data rates may apply.

Consent to receive messages is not a condition of any purchase. We don't sell your phone number, ever.

Acceptable use

Be normal. Don't:

If you do any of the above, we may pause or terminate your access without notice.

Activity recommendations are suggestions, not endorsements

Stoop finds and recommends activities from public sources around the web. We do our best to keep them accurate, but venues change schedules, prices, and policies without telling us. Always confirm details directly with the venue before showing up. Stoop doesn't run, sponsor, or have any relationship with the venues we recommend (unless we tell you otherwise).

You're responsible for evaluating whether an activity is appropriate, safe, and a good fit for your child. Use your judgment as a parent.

Pricing

Stoop is currently free during the pilot. If we ever introduce paid tiers, you'll be told the price before you're charged anything. We won't quietly start billing you.

No warranty

Stoop is provided "as is." We don't promise the recommendations will be perfect, the service will always be available, or the links will always work. We're a small operation doing our best.

Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, Andrew Dresser is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Stoop. If somehow we are found liable, the total amount we owe you is capped at the greater of (a) what you paid Stoop in the last twelve months, or (b) one hundred US dollars.

Changes to the service or these terms

Stoop is a work in progress. We may add, change, or remove features. We may also update these terms — if we make a meaningful change, we'll let you know via text or email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Stoop after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Ending your use

You can stop using Stoop anytime by replying STOP. We can also stop providing the service to you if you violate these terms or if we shut Stoop down (we hope not, but we're being honest with you).

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that can't be resolved over email will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York.
